I work at Wiles Elementary in their after school program and was amazed at some of the cameras these children bring to school. Today one of the fifth graders had not a camera but a small video camera that looks like a digital camera to school. She said that her mom bought it for about $50. I am just curious to see how that uploads to the computer or if she takes it into CVS where she bought it and they will put the video on a CD for her.
I have never even heard of this new technology until she brought it to school. I am just amazed how these children are bringing Gameboys and toys like this to school and wonder why it might get taken from their backpacks every now and then. I wonder if I could really trust an elementary school student with a laptop and carrying it around school. I understand how middle schoolers and high schoolers laptops are beneficial, however I feel that alot of technology might be broken such as screens cracked if each child had his/her own computer.

My first day of blogging

Today is the first day of blogging. I had a hard time coming up with the title. However, I thought of the title of a great movie that I watched in my Italian Film class last summer in Rome. The title La Dolce Vita is a good explanation of my life over the past year. (more written in the next paragraph). From studying abroad in Roma, Italia to the Florida Gators winning back to back champions to graduating from UF- I have the sweet life. Studying abroad in Rome was one of the best experiences of my life because I was able to learn Italian, which is what many of my family members speak. The hotel I stayed at, I met someone that knows some of my family members in a small town in Girifralco, Calabria. I also enjoyed practicing my Italian and talking to the people in Rome. They are so kind and will be late to work just to have a conversation with you!
Attached is a scene from La Dolce Vita which is filmed in the famous Trevi fountain. To the right is a picture of me in front of the Trevi Fountain where I loved to just sit and relax and do some homework.
